That is not the best series of photos to tell for sure, different times & only one at the bait at a time, the person who set the bait would know how far from the ground it was & what size the Hog was (looks like a smaller Pig ?) so they would know best ?

Looks to be a mature Hyena or Hyena's, too out of focus to line up the Spots to see if different animals

Id hate to shoot a lactating female feeding Pups myself but with the Spotted Hyena the Females are the largest, if in a group I normally target the front or lead animal, if I'm after a big skull, these don't normally have the best skins or fur, that's a younger animal with nice clean ears.

When I saw my first Spotted Hyena rug years ago, I was amazed at how plush the fur was, put you in mind of a nice Bear rug !

Good day.
In my opinion this could be the same Hyena.
Its a big dog, if you look at the hight on the shoulders and the thick neck is a big dog.
The head might look smaller because of that thick neck, its not an supper old Hyena but I would recommend shooting that Hyena if it comes in. Normally if the bait site keeps running and there is fresh bait the whole time they will come in earlier and earlier, also depending on do they have a den on the area or how far do they need to walk but Hyena can close distance very quickly. If they now there is food the whole time they will keep coming back.
To answer your question sir I would shoot that Hyena without any doubt.

Good input from Sarg, Derian and Stuart already — and Certus is right that the spots line up, so it looks like the same animal working through.

On the sex question, spotted hyena are the one species where the usual checks let you down. The females are bigger and heavier than the males, they're the dominant sex, and they carry masculinised parts, so a glance on a grainy night frame will fool you more often than not. The better tells are behaviour and build: the animal that owns the bait and feeds without looking over its shoulder is usually the dominant female, while males tend to hang back and feed nervous. And like Sarg, I'd never knowingly take a lactating female off cubs. On age I'd gently flip the "clean ears" point — a really old one usually carries a blocky roman head on a thick neck, worn teeth, a saggy belly line and a face and ears full of scars. Clean ears and a fine muzzle read younger to me. Yours looks a mature, well-fed animal with good shoulder height and a heavy front end.

On taking him with a bow over bait, a few things that help: tie the bait down low and slightly to one side so he has to turn broadside and commit rather than face you head-on. Wait for that broadside or a touch quartering-away, and aim lower and more forward than instinct tells you — hyena vitals sit surprisingly low and tight in behind the leg, and a lot of otherwise good hits sail high over the lungs. They're tough and thick-skinned, so heavy arrow and a strong cut-on-contact head for full penetration, and be fanatical about scent and stillness; their noses are unreal. Patience is the whole game — he'll usually visit a few times before he gives you the shot.

What poundage and broadhead are you set up with? Happy to talk through shot angles if it helps.

Thank you
Also dont feel like taking a female with cubs.
I wil be setting more baits to see what comes. Planning to try in september oktober and will be baiting and seaching till then.
My set up is light so i might have to change im running 470 grain black eagle deep impact 260 fps and since im still young only 57 pounds
Is the beast 2 inch a good broadhead or rather fixed
Thank you
