Hunting wild cattle/bovines...

Agreed...that looks just like a woods bison to me. I would see them on almost every drive between Alaska and the Lower 48. Cool animal that is a lot bigger than the plains bison.

Although I would like to do so, I know of no place where one can legally hunt gaur. Hugely impressive animals.

I've killed a coupe of Cape Buffalo and would like to do more.

When I was young and farming/ranching, we had one cow in particular that was nasty and we knew it. We always kept an eye on her as we didn't trust her. One time in doctoring them, she left the squeeze chute, did a u-turn and hit the medicine table blowing up a bunch of expensive meds and broke my boss's hand in the process. She should have been put down. She later caused a panic in the holding pen and 3 cows went under the rest and were so damaged, they had to be put down. She wasn't worth the trouble!
When I was in grade school our friend Alvin had a holding/ isolation pen made from 6-7 foot tall cedar stakes , and told us he had a crazy sick cow inside it and not to go near it, of course my cousin wanted to take a look and it came running up and nearly tore through it butting it, the Mexican hand heard the commotion and went into the pen to check on it and the cedar fence, next thing we saw was him flying through the air after it had hooked and pitched him over , then it actually jumped out/ fell over the fence and
Started running in circles like a dog chasing its tail, my uncle had a 240 weathby mag and shot it a couple times before it died, we had to load the poor hand up and take him to Alvin’s house because he had some broken ribs and couldn’t breathe right .
The vet came out and cut its head off to check for rabies, but was super POed because
My cousin had cut one of its ears off as a souvenir when we were gone , the vet and my uncle made him strip naked and use carbolic soap and wash off with a cold water hose, and then made him
Take a 5 gallon bucket of some sort of white powder and spread it around the pen .
lol then strip again and scrub down again with the carbolic soap,
The cow did have rabies and the cow hand had to be treated for it

Sorry for the long story but I haven’t thought about that till now when I read the above
