How many .375 H&H's and/or .416's do you own and shoot?

I have just had a Ronald Wharton 300 H&H delivered to me from UK . An absolutely beautiful rifle . 26 inch barrel , Oberndorff action , H&H quick detachable scope mount . Looking to use it in the Northern Territory in a few months .

I also have a Ron made Oberndorf in 275. Consecutive serial number with the 375

This one

I have one 375 H&H, Win Model 70 built in 1966. Push feed and it is a wonderful rifle. Don’t need anything else, .......
How could you survive that long!!!

I had a three alarm fever when I had three 375 H&Hs but sold one so the fever is subsiding. The two remaining are an AHR upgraded CZ550 375 H&H set up for Alaska and a Whitworth Interarms Safari Classic 375 H&H set up for Africa. Also have an AHR upgraded 458 Lott but didn’t get the 416 fever - yet.

I glad to see I’m in good company with others that have the same ‘illness’. Im just starting the big bore collection and so far have only one .375, a Borovnik o/u from ‘61.

1- 375H&H and a 458WM.
0 to both.

So very sad.....You really need a 375H&H. It will pair very nicely with any and all of your current firearms.

As for a 416, you definitely want the Rigby caliber, because it's the classic statement.....TIA. Or opt for a 458WM or 458 Lott,....as either of these latter 2 will say " I have my big boy pants on."

.458 winnie > Lott ;)

One day I’ll have a .375 H&H :)

Any day now (once the NICs comes back) I should be taking possession of a Ruger No 1 in 458 WM.

Can't even wait.

How much I'll shoot it? Who knows? I supposed a few times. Then I'll clean it up, shoot it now and then, until I can return to Africa for buffalo.

The plan was to get something in 375HH. I saw the 458WM and really liked it. I will probably still get a 375HH some day as well.

1.Holland .375
2. Pre 64 .375
3. Musgrave .375 ( ph rifle and my go to rifle)
4. Custom built .375 Truvelo (client gun) heavy barrel and stock this very shootable with reduced recoil.

Also have 4 x .375 Mannlicher rifles (9.5x 57)
.416 Taylor at gunsmith
458 Lott and 4x 404 J’s
2x 505 Gibbs one built on a Heym ultra magnum action the other is original Gibbs one of 23 still known to exist.

What makes are the 404s?...and an original 505....Nice...if you get bored with it..... :E Big Grin: :D Beers:

2 458 win mag
2 458 LOTT

Definitely none of those 375 things...... :E Horrified: :E Horrified::E Horrified:....think had 4 Rigby 416 rigbys over the years....sold my last one quite a while ago....keep wondering why even now....:E Head Scratch:....so just my cz550 416 rigby with the synthetic stock....quite into the cz 550 these days....all being well got some qd mounts arriving this year for the 416, courtesy of a nice guy coming out here .:D Beers:....but it's bang on with the irons.

375's and 416's are easily among my favorite calibers. I've sold a few but currently have...

.375 Flanged Dakota 10
.375 H&H Sako
.375 H&H Champlin full custom
.375 Blaser R8

.416 Ruger
.416 Rigby Dakota 76
.416 Rem Blaser R8
Krieghoff 500/416 double

After that, I jump up in caliber to .458 Lott and various .50 calibers.

1- .375 H&H
1- .416 Ruger
1- .458 Lott
Planning on putting together a .375 Wby.
Had a .378 Wby… Too much of a good thing.
Had a .458 Win mag

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
