The thread about Bell on Kindle got me thinking... My wife and I have always loved books but in our younger years, they were always stuffed hither and thither:) Fortunately, in our mountain home, we finally have a "library". Still have 20 boxes of books up in the hay loft:(
I will start...

A general rule of life is that I like people with bookshelves larger than the width of their televisions. It speaks to one's intellect.

Sadly, I don't have enough room to display all of my books. Just a 14' long book case and built in credenza.

In a perfect world I'd like to own so many book cases that I have to own rolling library ladders to reach them.

Your collection looks wonderful!

I have a few of these scattered around the house. They are old 6 gun gun cases that my father built. I converted them to book cases when young kids started coming around and it was unfashionable to display guns.

I don't have much of a library. My wife does not want to spend money on housing books that are no longer read or used. When my father died, most of his book were sold at an estate sale, I kept some. My grandfather did have a large libary of over 2700 volumes which now resides at UT Austin.

I love books. But sadly we have limited space especially after the kids were born. So I stashed most of my collection at the in-laws. Still got enough books at home to read. Afterwards they go to the rest of the collection. One exception are all my hunting books. They stay.. you have to draw that line somewhere ;)

Another thing that helped is my wife bought me a Kindle.

Very nice! A man after my own heart.
One of the things I see and like about these libraries is the eclectic tastes and the seemingly random juxtaposition. Good stuff
...indeed quite random, with a common thread...
Thank you and congratulation for your collection and display!
Me, I couldn't live without my books, they are responsible for my formation as a man, not just as autodoorsman.
Those books are very good friends.

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ

What is the minimum you would take.

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
