Help Please...9.3x62 Makes No Sense

Classic QuickLOAD gotcha 65gr Big Game with a 270gr bullet is way over real world and heavily compressed or impossible depending on brass bullet seating.

Real data from Ramshot Western Powders and hunters pushing it max safe around 62grfor 270-286gr bullets, giving 2450-2550 fps plenty for leopard deep pen controlled expansion with the Speer HotCor.

Your overflow is because QL's default case capacity or seating depth is optimistic real 9.3x62 cases hold 74-78gr water, and with the Speer seated to normal COAL, usable space tops out around 60-62gr before crunching.

Safe plan Start at 56-58gr, work up watching pressure flat primers, sticky bolt. Most guys settle 60-62gr for great accuracy velocity without drama. The Speer 270 Hot Cor is a proven leopard killer at those speeds broadside lungs heart and it'll drop 'am quick.

You'll be golden don't chase QL numbers, trust published data and your brass.

Actually I respectfully disagree. My QL showed this powder at 62 grains was at 91.7 fill rate with no compression aat 48,000 PSI far under the max PSI. I found that to be correct and problem solved when I recalibrated my scale

CIP for the factory round is 57,000PSI, same as the 8x57 Mauser. Of course we know with modern brass, rifles, etc, these pressures can be exceeded, and indeed are with handloads.
So, what's the vel. with the 270gr. and the 62gr. load?

Hello - I was looking at your post from several years ago regarding the Winchester 300 H&H. Any chance you still have the lefty M70 300 H&H for sale?
Thank you, Mike

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!

Hi Rem280, Saw your post on getting selected for Idaho Elk. Do you have a zone(s) selected? I live in N Idaho, might be able to offer some ideas.

Cheers,

Craig
