There's a similar Lebeau Courally engraved double sidelock in .375 for sale on Gunsinternational for $29,800. I would imagine that the value of a sidelock by that maker should be around that. Obviously depending on wood grade, provenance, engraver's name, etc.

Thank you. I seen the 375 as well. I have not been able to find much on the Lebeau double rifles.

Thanks

Lebeau Courally first began making double rifles (in calibers other than 9.3x74mm R) in 1980.

These rifles were initially offered in:
7x65mm R
8x57mm JRS
9.3x74mm R
.375 H&H Magnum
.458 Winchester Magnum

You can see the prices of the rifles during the 1980s. The .458 Winchester Magnum variants were regulated for 500 grain Winchester Super X factory loads, traveling at a velocity of 2040 FPS.

They are NOT to be used with monometal bullets. But other than that, very fine rifles indeed.

Thank you for the information. Very interesting. Thanks for sharing.

Their website's firearm pages have been inaccessible for the last two years, which leads me to believe that they might unfortunately have stopped making firearms by now.

Is Lebeau-Courally still in business and still making guns?

Thanks

That is kind of the same conclusion that I came to. But was not sure. It is a shame to see quality makers close their doors.

Thanks

I'm unfortunately not surprised. There were once over 100 gun makers operating in Liege, Belgium prior to the second world war. Today, the only sporting firearm which is still being manufactured in Belgium, is the Browning B-25 Superposed (and that too, on a very limited basis).

After the Belgian Congo ceased to be one of their colonies, Belgian gun makers all began to drop out of the business like flies. Today, Belgium is unfortunately one of the most anti hunting countries in all of Europe.
