Greetings everyone. Just found this site a little while back and am looking forward to learning from the experience of others here. I'm booked for a Namibia plains game hunt in late June. It will be a chance to introduce my son (16) to African hunting. He took his first big game animal last April and what a way for a young person to start. New Zealand, 11 pt Red Stag, came in roaring to a call. Wow. Took me 4 years of hard hunting as a teen before I was able to get an Arizona whitetail. Since buffalo is not on the agenda for Namibia and I don't know when another trip might happen, I'm selling a couple of 375s which will be posted in the classifieds soon.
Best,

Welcome to AH Jeff! Good to have you on the site...

Welcome!

Enjoy!

Welcome aboard Jeff from a native Arizonan with NoCal ties.

Lots of good folks here on this board.

Where will you be hunting in Namibia?

Thanks for the welcome.

I'll be hunting with Jan du Pleases of Serba Safaris, around the Loxodonta Africana Conservancy, not far south of Etosha National Park. My wife is going as an observer, and an old friend (who also hunted with me in Zambia in 1999) is going as well. 10 day hunt.

Jeff at least one if not more of this site's sponsors (John from Westfalen Hunting Safaris) hunts the L.A. Conservancy.
By all accounts I've read you are in for a great time. I'm totally envious.

What did you hunt in Zambia in 1999?

Hi Thomas,
We hunted buffalo, kudu, wildebeest, impala and warthog. Ended up taking a buffalo and wildebeest. I flubbed a couple of shots, which was discouraging. The first time in Africa can be disorienting.

Welcome to a great community Jeff!

All the best on the upcoming safari for you and the family. I am certain you and your son will be making memories.

Hey Odinsraven. Is that post from Jefferry 404 legitimate? I don't know him. Thanks!

I have no idea the shipping cost from here to Costa Rica. I can do my research on shipping and get back with you later today.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
