Hello from Texas

Welcome from DFW!

AH- been lurking for a bit but decided to post, Well, after a decade of being convinced I need to go, my cousin who is a brother to me has convinced me to start hunting in Africa. He and his amazing wife have already been.We are booking my first in about 3 years going to take my wife and 2 sons and him and his wife.

I live in Leander but we hunt currently in south Texas for the past 2-3 decades and hunting nilgai has encouraged the bug and reading all my cousins suggestions has led me to this type of hunting. So after months and months of research and going thru what I want, I currently am building the list of animals I want and after a lot of research here and countless hours of planning with my cousin, I’ve decided on a 1 rifle safari, with plans of a double after. Placed my heym order after going up to Dallas to visit with Chris a couple months ago. I wanted wood stock blue barrel full on romance guy here lol.

We will be going to SCI in February with my wife and my cousin and his wife. Will be my first sci and I’m looking forward to all of it. My sons will be around 15 and 17 when we go on our first of many. Anyways I get long winded and wanted to say I love this forum and reading and learning from all of you, it gives me hope of something to do during what is surely going to be a sad Aggie football season. Thanks for reading :)

Welcome aboard. As a fellow Texan, hope you take a hard look at coming to Zambia on safari. We have alot of families come hunt our areas and have a wonderful time in the wilds of Zambia.

Jerome, do you think my last post in rough camping must maybe shift as an article?

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl
