Back in the early 1960’s an uncle of mine from Reed Spring, MO taught me how to use a fly rod to great effect (affect ?), on the then new Tablerock Lake, as it was still in the stage of filling itself with river water.
His tutoring of my using dry flies for bluegill and large mouth bass, began my life long love for using dry flies on many species around the world.
However, my favorite freshwater gamefish remains to this day, the bluegill and his kin.
