Has bowhunting Africa changed your approach to bowhunting in the states?

More so just a question out of my own curiosity. I only have a few whitetails and a bear under my bowhunting belt but I genuinely don't see a downside to hunting NA game with heavier arrows. I don't think I'll ever be a proponent of having 750 grains to kill a whitetail but I think my days of shooting lightweight arrows are over. These heavier arrows that I've been tinkering with before my first trip has me feeling super confident in my ability to make the shot I need to on the animals I'm chasing. Last summer I went on my first black bear with a 505 grain arrow and got amazing results. Bear was down within 25 yards of where I shot and recovery was super easy. I know heavy vs light is never going to get solved on this forum or any other forum but I would like to know everyone else's experience.

I’ve shot the same arrows for the last 20 years. Easton A/C/C’s in a 3-71 spine. The finished weight is 445 grains with a 100 grain head. I’ve hunted all over North America and went to South Africa last summer and shot PG. I will continue to use the same setup. It has preformed well for me all these years as I’ve killed over 200 animals with them. Lots of whitetails and pigs. My daughter shoots a 410 grain arrow @ 220fps. She has a 23 1/2” draw length and blew through gemsbok, Nyala, warthogs, and buried to the fletching on an eland. A sharp fixed broadheads in the right place and it’s a short walk to a dead animal.

Thanks for commenting. I like that you have confidence in your setup. I honestly think that at the end of the day that it is the only thing that matters. Don't fix what isn't broken (y)

Jake, Sorry to bug you again. I was wondering if you could share a. couple actual pics of this crossbow with me?

Xpedition Archery USED Scrapeline390X Sniper Gray Crossbow XACW1001 - Light Wear - Needs Bolt/Arrow Guide Spring UA5689

If it is in a decent shape, would you be willing to sell it for $100 shipped? IS it missing the retention spring that goes over the bolt?
Thank you Ferenc

Good morning John, I just read your setup procedure for the northstar duplicator ator. I found it very hand and I did learn some things. I have the same machine and I am having a problem i can not figure out and was hoping you could shed some light on the subject.
