Has anyone heard Alliant is stopping sales of powder for reloading?

I shoot close to 16 pounds of Varget a year and am down to my last 24 pounds. Recently there was a deal on N-140, $1200 for a case (4-8# jugs) shipped to my door with tax. Never thought $300 per 8# was a deal.

The validity of the original press release was always in doubt. There was never anything on Alliant's website nor their parent company's. Not saying there are not issues, but limited Alliant powder is still available and is on "sale".

Yup. I'm normally a Hodgdon powders guy, but lately I've been buying equivalent Vihtavuori powders as back up.
Is there a powder comparison chart from Alliant or Hodgon to Vihtavouri powders for rifles?
I have read many "burn rate charts" but some variation exists based on cartridges.

Vihtavouri powders are good, I use VN-165 in a .270.

That may be a scam site. Whenever the payment options are Venmo, Zelle and crypto I think caution is warranted.
Yep, something fishy about this site now that I've had a look. Maybe I'm wrong but my gut tells me to steer clear. Looks too good to be true, unfortunately.

yup. Hodgdon has a relative burn rate chart that's updated almost annually. You can google for it and it's also available for download.

All charts vary in their comparisons, but typically not in huge leaps.

Some alliant powders are back in stock at midway. Green dot, power pistol, and herco, for example. I wonder if it’s because these powders are made domestically as opposed to the reloader series made in Sweden.

My local gun shop handed me this flyer yesterday
This is why I loaded up on all reloading supplies when available, Powder, brass, bullets and primers no matter the crazy price at the time. I just don’t to worry about it. Just me

I've abundance in all reloading components I need, except 404J brass. I only have about 140 of those, give or take a couple.

I have boxes of unfired 45-70, 9.3x62, 280AI, 6.5x55, and once-fired 308 (about 1500 of those).

I paid $5 for the Bertram 404 brass I have, and now I'm seeing it at about $8 where it can be found. I didn't pay that much for the 50BMG brass. Hopefully Norma or Hornady comes through in the next few months.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
