Howdy from San Antonio. - Glad to have found this website, as I'm "in the preliminary planning stage" of preparing to go to Africa in late 2015 to hunt with my crossbow.
(My goal is to take a Cape Buffalo, a Leopard and some plains game with my Excalibur.)

yours, sw

welcome and enjoy the site stand watie.
best of luck with your xbow mate

bluey,

THANKS for the kind welcome.
(Should you ever come up TX way, our non-profit crossbow club has leased a 7000 acre Hill Country ranch that is alive with native/exotic game, with another even larger south TX ranch lease soon to come.).

no problem mate .im not at all familiar with xbows .
what poundage is this bow cannon s.w?
and the weight of the bolts ?
ive seen that they are amazingly quick at what distance are they capable of hitting a deer size target accurately ?
my little brother gave me one a few years ago and now im trying think when the last time l saw it ?

bluey,

200 pound draw, 360FPS. Fires a 22" aluminum arrow, which is between 300-500 grains, tipped with a 4-blade broadhead, accurately out to about 50 yards.
(MOST game animals are taken between 10-30 yards, however, including our "Texas Dedicated Huntress", GUIDE GIRL, who took a BIG Cape Buffalo in Africa with her Horton X-bow last year at 22 steps away. = Her buff took 2-3 steps & went over on his nose - Aorta cut in to two pieces, with a complete "pass through".)

yours, sw

you must be a big hombre to cock that s.w.
texas is definitely on my to do list and everyone I have come across from that state is a genuine good bloke or blokette.
I would love to come and see your xbow ranch .
can l use a compound bow though ?

Welcome to AH, sw!

bluey,

Unlike some clubs, the TCHC does NOT discriminate against vertical archers. = 50# & up bows are A-OK.
And we have HUNDREDS of BIG hogs, cats & lots of other game on the lease.
(Last Saturday night 5 boar over 100 kilos were collected.)

NOTE: At 66YY & with some "shoulder issues", I use a "cocking aid" to cock the X-bow. - I cannot cock it w/o one.

Is this rifle sold? If not what is the weight of it and do you know if there is enough difference in diameter between the 35W and the 9.3 to allow for a rebore to a 9.3x62 which is what I am after?
Thanks,
Gary (Just down the road in Springfield)

Forgive me if this is the incorrect area, I signed up to this forum just now because I wanted to be on the list to purchase a copy of your autobiography. Please feel free to pass my information along to whomever is selling. Thank you so much. I look forward to it!
I like the Tillie in my picture. They are supposed to fit loose (2 fingers inside hat band), have mesh for cooling, and hold their shape after washing.
