I can't remember the exact make/model of the rifle think it was a Bruno in 300 H&H calibre I ended up using the PH's rifle as the shots were longer than what I expected with my 6.5 x 55 Swedish. His rifle had a Zeiss scope with balistic turret and was easily set on the range. This gemsbuck was not that far only 180 meters but I had the 300 H&H in my hands. Bullet was 180gr Gromm

A couple gemsboks from May this year.

The PH felt he made a mistake in that the first gemsbok was not a good enough trophy. I told him it was alright with me and thought he had a character. He insisted that I shoot another one which I happily complied a few days later.

The last picture shows the differences in their horns as well as their skulls.

Yhc, I have also made a mistake like that with a client and a young gemsbuck it was on its own same story I covered the bill and he took another one. Its one of those mistakes you learn to avoid quickly.

Yes I was lucky to, I was on ride along when I started & saw this happen to another PH in thick thorn country, so learnt a lesson that day, not saying it won't happen when the pressure is on & last day or some thing !
