Not better, just different. The best taxidermists are the busiest and wait time long, but you get beautiful trophies. There are numerous state-side taxidermists who do excellent work as well. Prices are about the same in most cases.
On the smaller predators I believe you need to do A LOT of research, they are gorgeous little critters but taxidermist seem to have a very hard time duplicating the character and expression in the heads, especially the eyes. This goes for taxidermist everywhere. Some of the best taxidermy I’ve seen has been smaller predators and also some of the worst.
I’ve found the permitting process fairly painless, CITIES and TOPS, but I haven’t done any CITIES II animals.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
