For Sale.
Winchester 70 Safari Express 416 Rem Mag, that was re-barreled by SSK Firearms with a stainless 21.5" barrel. Also features a McMillan fiberglass stock. LOP 14 1/4".
Weight is 9lbs. Action is smooth and feeds well. The barrel has at most 40 rounds through it.
I'm heavily invested into the Blaser R8, so that's the only reason I'm selling. This rifle would cost $3125 to reproduce at today's prices. A bargain at $2500.00

This rifle has done a very hard tour of duty in one of the most rugged places I have ever seen.

Great usable rifle in a very under rated caliber, I'm a .45 guy but the .416 Rem is what people think a .375H&H is, top cartridge !

PS I think far better than the Blaser & you should reconsider keeping it maybe ?

I was on the same hunt with Toby, and I used a 416 rem as my only rifle. I really am happy with how well the rifle did for me. I had no problem at all reaching out to 200+ yards, but also dropped a buff within 100 feet of where it was shot. Really a great all around chambering for a one rifle hunt.

I agree it's a great rifle. But for international travel, the R8 just makes sense. Two calibers in one small case should be very easy to travel with and the R8 just fits me very well.

Toby that is a nice rifle, SSK does some very good gunsmithing.

What brand of barrel is on this? Does SSK make the barrels?

I knew it!! :ROFLMAO:

I would buy it, but I already have one. (Tire kick)

I will say that these are sweet to shoot in 416 Rem, and that short barrel probably makes it one of the quickest handling Model 70’s you can get.

What a perfect gun for Africa AND Alaska! Good luck with it my friend.

I didn't ask them if they outsourced the barrel or not. I do know that it's very accurate and doesn't foul much at all with the TSX and Swift bullets I shot through it.

What kind of velocity are you getting with the 21" barrel?

Sir, I will gladly take that 16 gauge off your hands. I was waiting for your Winchesters but I'm a sucker for a 16 ga.

I bought a great deal of the brass he had for sale, plus I already had many hundred rounds.

How much brass are you looking for?
