Welcome aboard!

Giday S 3 Ranch and welcome to the A H forums.

Welcome to the fire. My .02 would be the 308, 178 grain ELDX would be perfect for all the plains game. All about placement, take a look at some charts on where to aim. Gemsbuck and zebra would be the thicker skin and biggest bodied animal, but no issue for what you got.

Welcome to AH!

Shot a kudu, gemsbok, zebra and impala in Aug with Limcroma with no issues. All one shot.

Welcome from another new guy. I’m headed to RSA for a very similar list in 2024. I’m taking my .300 win mag but only because it’s the only rifle I have not completely set up for long range. If I had a light weight .308 or .270 I wouldn’t hesitate to take those.

Welcome, take your favorite rifle with quality bullets.

Good idea to check out our forum before making your first trip over. I'm pretty sure you will be hooked.....Good Luck.

Welcome to AH from rural Idaho. You have definitely come to the right place to find out what you need to know. Happy hunting and happy adventures. Sue

Hello S-3 Ranch,

Khomas Highland Hunting Safaris of Namibia, welcomes you to the greatest forum on earth.

Your .308 rifle will work fine, as will your friend’s .270 rifle.
If you can find or hand load Swift A-Frame ammunition for those calibers, you cannot do better, in my opinion.

Of course, no matter what calibers and what bullets you guys use, it’s just like any caliber in the world = provided you shoot straight with whatever you are using.
A heart shot elephant will succumb faster to a .30-06, 220 bullet than a gut shot elephant will from a gut shot, with a .600 Nitro and a 950 grain bullet.

Best Regards,
Velo Dog.

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA
