I just received my crate from last year's hunt in SA. I had some skins done, felt backing and sewn leather edges. Kudu, wildebeest , gemsbuck and others. They are folded now the way they were shipped. We are building a new home and I need to store these skins for 4 months or more. Should I remove them and roll them or just leave them folded? Let me know what you think. Thanks.

I would roll them, it will help from developing fold lines. Even if you dont, the fold lines will come out over time.

Have always rolled mine!

I have some rolled, blue wildebeest, Nyala, impala, etc, and occasionally open them when company comes to show them. If it were long term, I’d probably wrap them in Saran Wrap with moth balls and desiccant.

I'd be wary of mothballs and dessicant. The chemical reaction might damage the skins. Also, saran wrap. I suggest an old sheet so they can breathe.
