Thanks Jake.

Pity they dropped the barrel band and the iron sights.

I know :( .... here's hoping they bring something back that pays its dues back to the older models

Hopefully they’ll at least put irons on the 9.3x62. I recently bought a Sako 90 Hunter in 375 and it has irons.

I am getting one in 9.3x62, I will be having my smith put irons on it.. looks so much better.

I agree! A rifle like this just doesn’t look right with a slick barrel.
I do like the pic rail style scope bases though. Mine has the optilock style and I’m very limited on scope ring choices.

Sako - while you’re at it fixing the Grizzly - how’s that XL action in the 90 coming along ?

;)

I much prefer the pic rail bases.. on the Hunter / Bavarian that takes the optilock bases I have started using and recommending Unknown Munitions Tikka rings, I don't carry them but they are a good product.

Yes, those look like nice rings. I may try a set. Just wish someone made a good QD ring for it.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
