For the convenience of hunting clientele visiting Namibia and bringing along their personal hunting rifles, the Namibian Police has implemented an online firearm import application facility at Hosea Kutako International Airport.

Please find attached the import application form for submission prior to arrival in Namibia which must be emailed to the Namibian Police at firearmairport@nampol.na. Please note that at this stage, this procedure is only applicable to Hosea Kutako International Airport in Windhoek.

Please remember that any scanned document should not exceed 1MB in size when sent to this address.

That is a step forward.

Thanks for posting going there in July.

So you email them a copy of the form, and then what happens?

Nice. Gotta love how the Namibians continue to do things to attract hunters.

Traveling with Firearms to Namibia

Frequently asked questions regarding temporary rifle import into Namibia:

How much time is required for permit processing after submitting your online application to firearmairport@nampol.na?
You will most likely not receive a response from this address upon submission, but officials will start processing your application.
We recommend that you submit your online application about 2-3 weeks prior to arrival into Namibia. Please bring along the original application form when entering Namibia and proceed to the arms and ammunition counter after clearing entry with the Immigration Service Counters.

What guidelines do I need to keep in mind when traveling with fire arms?
Please always check with the airline you are traveling with, to assure your firearms arrive hazzle free at your destination. Different airlines have different arrangements at different ports. Should an airline have an agreement with a connecting airline, it will be easier to travel with fire arms. Please consult your travel agent or keep a close eye on your booking confirmation when booking online.

What visa requirements are applicable?
This depends in its entirety on your nationality. Please consult your travel agency or an updated website listing visa requirements per country.

This only pertains to hunters traveling from the USA to Namibia but I highly recommend Having a customs form 4457 ( Certificate Of Registration For Personal Effects Taken Abroad). It is unfathomable in some places that you can own a firearm without an actual license so it makes it easier to just hand them the 4457 as your "license" for that firearm when asked.

Can i have a silly question? What should i write to departure date and flight no? I mean, shouldnt be arrival date instead? Or they really need the flight no. i will leave Namibia with?

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!

Hi Rem280, Saw your post on getting selected for Idaho Elk. Do you have a zone(s) selected? I live in N Idaho, might be able to offer some ideas.

Cheers,

Craig
