Favorite Gemsbok mount

Debating between a shoulder and wall pedestal. Room is not a problem, what is your favorite?

I personally like pedestal mounts if you have the floor space versus up higher on a wall where people can’t really get up close to the animal.
European mounts on the wall, shoulder mounts on a pedestal on the floor.

Wall pedestal…with a sharp turn. IMO those tall horns look better when they’re not straight up and down.

Wall pedestal, mine has a good turn and it really shows off more of the black/white of the brisket.

Ok, lads, I have the gemsbok I shot last year arriving in the next month, or so, planning on a full shoulder mount.
But, still unsure of wall/pedestal...some pic's of what others have done would be much appreciated.
Sure appreciate all the good advice/feedback on this site, pretty awesome.

You've seen many previous posts on here, we all love a good story/experience. Only exception is the ones that go like 10 pages.

this guy gave us a heck of a hunt for several days. He is really thick and carries his mass all the way up. Also is a pic of my 2nd and best impala. He is almost 25in and flairs out well. He is great, but that gemsbok is beautiful.

This is my wall pedestal, the upright pose is not what I wanted. The taxidermy is good but I wanted the head lower.
Depending on how my 2025 hunt goes I may build a termite mound floor pedestal for him. This would allow me to utilize the space above and behind his horns.
I was wanting him mounted more like @buck wild mount.

It’s very difficult to mount a gemsbok, or any straight long horn animal, with the head lower unless you are going to make at least a 90 degree turn. The horns would hit the wall in semi sneak mount unless you tilted his head down 90 degrees to floor as if fighting

Not to derail but the biggest problem I’ve had with taxidermist mostly in Africa but some in the states as well is the failure to follow mounting instructions. On my last safari out of 5 mounts 3 were totally different than the poses I specifically showed the taxidermist this included the gemsbok, they actually had one pretty close to what you have and he said no problem.
I actually made him remount my roan.
