I obtained a Robin RGD3300N diesel generator that had been salvaged from an airport fire truck. It was used to run peripheral lights, tools etc I think. Anyways, it came without the stock exhaust. I cannot find a replacement and have been told they stopped manufacturing in 1998. If anyone has the exhaust I am interested in buying it. I will consider suitable alternatives too. I use it for camp and it is an awesome little machine...just a bit loud

Inter web and reliability of stock …. Here’s hoping.

Have you talked to a muffler shop to see if they could do something for it?

All you would really need is the flange that would bolt to the manifold and then fabricate the rest.

We created an ad-hoc muffler but it was a ridiculous link of pipes. None of my crew knows anything about diesel generator muffler systems.

The generator was supposedly quiet in its stock form so I am trying to hunt it down. The link @BRICKBURN has given is promising. Unfortuately, the model number doesn't match with what is on the parts lists but I am hoping there is cross-over. I have sent a message with my order. Maybe it will give me a part to then better fabricate a connection and that may work better than the nonsense we have going on now. Camp is entertaining sometimes.

This machine operates at a fraction of the fuel costs compared to the gas ones we were running.

If all else fails there has to be a fab shop that can manage to make something for you.

Fingers Crossed.

I agree on the fuel consumption, a friend has a diesel generator and he doesn't even bring any extra fuel when we go out camping. I've seen him run it all weekend sitting inside his trailer with the AC and TV on when it is hot out.

On fabricating a exhaust I was thinking about the motorcycle and vehicle builders who make a exhaust from scratch. Cutting, bending, and welding until they have what they want

@Pheroze Don't you have a welder in the family?
And a good one at that! It's the exhaust design work that I am hoping to avoid. He likes his diesel truck loud and rolling coal lmao.

Yes, if I can't get one this is plan "B"

I installed a 25 kVA Diesel gennie to run my practice during load shedding in February. A local diesel mac serviced it for us, and had an exhaust shop fit a new exhaust and bigger silencer box, with a custom flange to adapt to the manifold. All for R1770. It really shouldn’t be rocket science for a good artisan to make and bend you a new pipe and silence it.

@Pheroze
Simple solution. If it gets to noisy and annoying in camp SHOOT IT.
No more noise, problem solved.
As others will say easy enough to fab a new one for a few dollars.

Hey my friend, I am returning to SA for a Cape Buffalo hunt in June 26. My outfitter has suggested Highveld but I have read some poor reports. Wondering how satisfied you were with your mounts from them? Thanks in advance.
Finally back to somewhat normal I missed reading the messages and posts

Hi PaulB,
I have a Ballard Arms Model 1885 chambered for .333 Jeffery Flanged. Do you have any idea where I can get ammo for this?

I am new to this forum so I am sorry if I am doing something wrong!
Thank You!
