This WT buck is my personal best from family ranch near Quanah, Tx. Being primarily a bird dog man, I don’t sit for very long in our traditional shooting towers. However, a crisp sunny Sunday December morning about four year ago I made it to one of our towers that overlooks the Red River. I was very late getting there at about 8:30. I raised the windows and the front window was nice and noisy. I get settled, unpack my binos and down the river about 380 yds is this buck horns shining in the sunlight. He’s got me pegged. I have no shot and after awhile he saunters down the river outta sight. So I’m tellin the story next morning in camp and my buddy says let’s go try and rattle for him. Shane had these blades he bought at DSC that were farm sheds off a 200 inch deer that would bring big bucks outta their dirt naps. Anyway we made it down there and had him within 30 yards after two stands. I chest shot him with .300 WM and game over.
