Parting with a Dakota Safari rifle in 416 Rigby. I don’t have the build sheet, not the original owner, but when I called and spoke with Park West the rifle checks out with its original specs of a Safari with addition of checkered bolt knob and muzzle break with thread protector. They did not mention upgraded wood, but the stock is quite lovely, at least to my eyes. There are a few minor handling, safe marks on the stock, mainly superficial above the left side of the trigger. It does look like it was carried some based upon the front swivel stud showing minor use, and some shine on the side screw cap on the Vari-X III 1-5x20 scope, but the rest of the rifle is very minty condition. The bolt, feeding ramp, raceways, all look like the rifle was hardly, if ever shot, and doesn’t look like it was hunted much. Real safe queen.

I bought it with the intention of hunting it and often, but before it even arrived, I picked up my Rigby Big Game Rifle so this one has gone totally unloved, I haven’t even shot it. LOP is 13 3/4” over what looks to be a 1” pad. Has both muzzle break and thread protector.

$6,950 + shipping and insurance.

Listing this here first, but since I am also listing a bunch of working mountain/sheep rifles (8 NULA/ULA/CLRs, couple limited Fieldcrafts, Bansner and Kampfeld Custom) over on the 24hrcampfire, I’ll likely post this there as well just might wait a couple weeks first. I head off sheep hunting in a week, so no real interest, I’ll suspend the sale while I’m out so there isn’t any confusion or folks think I’m being inattentive. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.

Cheers,
Will

Very nice!

Nice rifle. I have a similar one, which has become my favorite DG rifle out of many. These are great rifles that are actually comparable to more expensive customs. It would take a lot of $ to get a nicer rifle than this.

Very well priced. Should sell fast! GLWS. I would cost double for Parkwest to build that rifle today.

I have his brother with the added benefit of being magnaported. :-). I kid.

I bought it with plans of cutting the barrel to 22” and moving site/recrowning. Ha, I even thought about the blasphemy of getting it threaded and putting a can on it. :-).

You must have a fever. Take something and get some rest...then come back when you are in your right mind again!

Beautiful!

You should list your FC’s and perhaps the NULA rifles

Good luck on your sheep hunt! I am heading north Monday for the same

Ha, no worries about cluttering up the post, the gun looks to be sold. I will say I do like the fact that this one had the break if one wanted it, and then thread protector for those who don't.

I did. They are here in the classifieds as well, just in a disorganized, cluttered type of post. Anything unspoken for by weeks end, I will suspend it and then properly relist them and put over on the **NOT**PERMITTED** and Campfire as there are more fanatics there on the NULA's and Fieldcrafts.

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
