I’m in the process of having my .375 built. Uk based builder but I’m in NZ… wonderful to deal with but we are at the stage where I need to confirm the custom stock dimensions. Never having had a fully custom rifle stock made before I am not sure what dimensions to opt for…. I’m also loathed to jump on a plane to go and get measured as I’m not sure that there is anyone in NZ who does it. I do have a very well fitting over and under shotgun with a custom stock and I have the full specification/measurement sheet for that.
has anyone converted shotgun stock measurements to rifle stock measurements?
If so how do you do it?
many thanks

How tall are you
how much do you weigh
will you be hunting in warm or cold weather with this rifle

6’4 and 90kg
Warm weather hunts
That’s the stock dimensions of the shotgun I shoot really well and was measured for

Shotgun fit and dimension may be different to rifle fit purely because of the nature of how they are sighted as far as drop at comb nose and heel, so sights and eye line need to be decided . How much meat is on your face to effect comb fit as is the distance between underside of cheekbone and eye center. Do you shoot standing upright or leaning forward into the shot as this will be reflected in the pitch of the stock but also complicated by chest shape that will also effect whether you need, or prefer cant and cast. How long are your hands, thumb tip to finger tip to effect the grip diameter? Lots of questions that need answering.
The best start is to find the rifle in your rack that fits you better than the others and analise how it may be made better but you need to have an understanding of what you are feeling with the rfle in hand.

Thank you so much.
I don’t suppose you know of anyone who does it in nz do you?

No recognised fitters that I know of but the number of stocks I have built have been for those who are close enough to come to my shed or those who know what they needed after a conversation with them.

Anime Slayer APK is honestly one of the best anime apps I’ve ever used. It’s packed with a massive collection of both popular and underrated titles, and everything streams smoothly without interruptions. I appreciate how well it runs even on mid-range Android devices.

Between Blak Rock and Pocahontas, I did not want to say that on the forum. That's a nice Cat!
