Haven’t done the sheath for the AH knife itself yet, but here are a couple of pics of sheaths that I’ve done recently for other knives. The leather sheath will be the same shape and style, just formed to match the AH knife. The 3rd pic shows a kydex sheath with the knife sheathed, just behind another knife (sorry, only pic I have on this device with a kydex sheath)

Thanks! It took me a while, but I figured out how to make a kydex sheath that doesn’t rub the blade of a finished knife. All of our dangerous 6 knives had hand sanded blades and kydex sheaths, and I never had any issues of blade rub.

But I do agree, nothing beats a nice leather sheath!

Hmmmm… cross carry leather sheaths can be tricky. I like to wet form the sheath to the knife so that it’s a nice snug fit though, so should be workable.

These were the last leather sheaths that I did cross carry’s on.

I found this Benchmade Hunt Flyway (trout and bird knife style) that fits the minimalist design I enjoy in a fixed blade. Blade length is 2.7”.

I vote 4" blade--I want to cut meat with it, not just skin. And have you ever tried to cut thick rope with a short blade...not good.

If I ever caught someone using one of my good skinning knives to cut thick rope with they would end up a very sore and sorry person.
Use the right tool for the job, a serrated knife for cutting rope not my skinning knives.
