Champlin Firearms is dumping their stock blanks

Master class in how to create an ambiguous ad.
Apologies if it wasn’t clear from the title. They appear to be liquidating their old inventory of wooden stock blanks. It’s listed for $295, and it looks like 40-50+ blanks. If you’re not familiar with their rifles, they are very nice.
Edit - I think they stopped making rifles a while back.

Ha! No, nothing you posted, A3. I was referring to the genius who created that ad for Champlin.

Let’s see- Quantity Available is listed as “1” but the pics show several dozen blanks. Is the price of $295 for the entire lot? A relatively low price for one quality blank, let alone dozens so were left to assume that’s per blank. BUT, then down below the ad says they are “looking to sell them all to a Gunmaker”. So, if you hit the Buy It Now button, what are you getting for that $295? Most likely one blank but…..

Just found the lack of detail amusing.

It lets you pick quantity desired. I assume its luck of the draw for figure and particular blank

No, it doesn’t allow you to choose a quantity greater than one.

Look at an ad on GB that has multiples of an item for sale, it will show “2” or greater under Quantity Available. As I said, I assume it is $295 per blank. Not a well done ad.

Gotcha, you are correct. Weird for sure. Most likely set up by someone not literate in listing on Gbroker

Im actually going to be running around in that part of the country in a couple of weeks.. We're stopping in to see JJ and get my wifes double fitted to her.. and then planning on hitting the monster gun show over in Tulsa that weekend as well.. I might have to swing over to Enid and visit Champlin while we're up there.. I dont really NEED another block of wood laying around.. but at $295, there might be something in the pile thats irresistable... :)

Usually Champlins are at the Tulsa show. I'm sure they won't have the blanks there but you could speak to them about it to see if it's worth the road trip to Enid. I'm flying in and out of Tulsa instead of driving like I usually do, or I would stop by. I did stop by before the last Tulsa show and it was nice to see what they had in general.

I live only 12 miles from George's shop by the airport. If someone needs me to go over and take a specific picture or even pick one up for them let me know. I "need" another excuse to go over there....

They have around 200 left. Still some very nice ones. European and English walnut. Various grades, all $295 plus shipping. Aged 40-50 years. Just give them a call.

@K-man very nice of you to offer. I couldn’t imagine buying any “stock blank” without looking it over carefully…or getting it from someone I trusted that examined it for me.

@mdwest If you stop by the enid shop and one of those blanks is a very dense straight grained english walnut please let me know.

Dave a little advice on visiting Champlins...it's a little overwhelming and disorganized but if you see a pile of something, dig down to the bottom of it. I found a cased Daniel Frasier carbine that followed me home...and a Damascus Howdah pistol that went to a collector friend. George doesn't remember what's in all of those piles so dig into them!

Have we considered a potential AH meet up for the Tulsa gun show? I’m local to the area, and could easily arrange a private room at a restaurant.

JJ has moved from Enid and is now outside of Tulsa.. I’ll be visiting him at his shop.. but I understand that Champlin / George will be at the Wanamaker Gun Show in Tulsa on Saturday with a big booth.. since we’re already going to be in the area, we plan on hitting the gun show most of Saturday..

Assuming that’s true, and Champlin brings some of those blanks, I’ll go through them, take pics of anything interesting, and text them to you…

I’m definitely wanting to dig through and see what I can find for myself as well..
