Buffalo boss pre and post taxidermy

With European mounts, you don't have any of these problems. For me, skulls are memories of the hunted game, dead animals that don't need to be brought back to false life with taxidermy.

These have been previously posted, but here are the four cape buffalo from my hunt in 2018 and them mounted. There's a closeup of the boss of the biggest one. You can see a bit of the material is lost during the taxidermy process.,

I have to say that is one really cool mount with all four buff together. Would require a large space but I love it!
 
The softer the bosses are, the more you will lose to boiling and prep. Based on your before pic, that looks like a pretty young bull.
