BOTSWANA: BOWHUNT: Diary Of A Day In The Blind Kanana

Thanks of for the walk down memory lane Brick. I too have all those fond memories from that same little piece of real estate that allowed me to see what Africa could be. You have a unique way to blend your thoughts and experiences with visual digital images. I am a lucky man that I was able to grant a dirt nap to a old eland bull with an arrow, at this location. As I close my eyes and stare into the dark I see those inedible images. Thanks again Brick.

What's a tense among friends. I'll actually do another thread for the rest. :)

Absolutely wonderful read , Brick. The pics put me in the blind... I am a bow hunter to the n'th myself. I will be packing the Hoyt to Zim later this year (along with the bang-stick just in case) . Can't waitfor more.

how much later this year cobber , theres only 6 days left

:laughing: I guess being serious with the bow has taught me one good thing...how to laugh at myself. What an idiot. If I am gonna make it "this year" , better head to the airport right after lunch.

Make: APA INNOVATIONS
Model: BLACK MAMBA XL 7.0
84# Draw weight
Arrows: 7595 Gold Tips 31.5 inches with inserts
Broadheads: 220 grain German Kinetics 2 blade (Big Game - 795 +/- Grains)

Same everything else but;
Montec 125 Grain (Plains Game- 415 Grains)

I can not be bothered to reduce my draw weight. It's set up and shoots well and I have no issues holding it.
Pretty darn flat trajectory out to 70 yards.

Thanks friend. I am gonna stick with my North American setup for plains game. If I try to bow hunt my buff in two years , I will bump up. My setup blew through a bull bison last year. It went between two ribs on the entry and centered a rib on the exit , cutting the bone into. The arrow went about eight yards after exiting.

I designed and set up for Buffalo and never went back.
Your NA game rig will kill all the plains game.

if you don't have a sense of humour ,bowhunting wont be your cup of tea ,that's for sure d.f.a.:biggrin2:
I was tanked up by that time of xmas day mate , sorry if you think im an asshole ,I was just being a smartass.:clapping:
before we walked to the beach for some tippety run, beach cricket .:doh2:
if your bow can punch through a bloody big bison , it wont have any trouble venting the chest cavity of a huge kudu .

Bluey , you weren't being an ass at all...it's all in good fun. I am a little upset that I missed out on adult refreshment time though:cool: Ahh , but come tomorrow afternoon though , I am gonna throw some bratts on the barbie and partake in some "cowboy koolaid"

..why is it that when I take a few days off as assistant gofer to the super-moderator, I always return to find that the bat-man from upsidedownland has been stirring again..? :biggrin2:

while the cats away chazz, the rats play....
I thought you would've been still looking up, king billy coke bottle on youtube

brats?? koolaid??? where the bloody hell are from d,f,a?
what about the beach cricket ??

Beach cricket...that's one I don't know, my friend. Where I grew up the only crickets we played with went on a hook and in the water.:fishing:
I am from Georgia originally , but now call Wyoming home (USA).
As far as the koolaid , it depends on the mood. Most times it's Red bull and vodka , or whiskey and sprite.

I really enjoyed that. Shows you what goes on of you pay attention.

I probably would have shortened that to "I sat in a blind all day. And saw a bunch of animals. It was a great day."

I like your version better.

Hallo Marius- do you have possibilities for stags in September during the roar? Where are your hunting areas in Romania?

I'm about ready to pull the trigger on another rifle but would love to see your rifle first, any way you could forward a pic or two?
Thanks,

Love your rifle! I'm needing a heavier rifle for Africa. Sold my .375 Dakota Safari several trips ago. Would you have any interest in a trade of some sort involving the custom 338/06 I have listed here on the site ( I have some room on my asking price. I also have a large quantity of the reloading components and new Redding dies as well as a box of A-Square Dead Tough ammo.
