While it was as great deal on the .300 barrel I knew I wouldn't use it much and therefore chose to save the funds for a 7mm mag barrel. I've owned and hunted with several .300s and have reached the conclusion that for me I'm much more comfortable with the 7mm and therefore more accurate. I'll also be able to order it threaded so I can put a can on it.

Call Cove Creek for a 7 mag barrel order. They do a great job sourcing Blaser stuff.

Couldn't agree more. I always tell folks to shoot as much gun as they can handle. The fact for me I've found is that I handle a 7mm RM better than a .300. Big holes are nice, but it's even better when they go right where they're supposed to. And you're right, I do have a lot of 7mm brass and rounds laying around. I'll happily post some pics when it arrives. This is my first delve into the world of Blaser and I'll happily take advice on how to set it up.

I'd be willing to bet you'd have to shoot a lot of game to tell much difference in killing effect between the 7mm and 300. Maybe on something the size of a Brown Bear or Eland, but for most Elk sized game and PG, a good 7mm TSX through the vitals should end matters pretty abruptly.

The joke in North Dakota is that one never breaks up with a girlfriend, he just loses his turn.
This 7 mag barrel is on its third suitor, although where it came from before the kitchen of @TOBY458 well, that is unknown.

It has multiple elk, deer and antelope now. Although I spurned it by not taking it out of the case in Namibia in 2021, having opted to keep the .375 on the whole time.

It was brand new when I got it. So, you're the only one who's put it to use. I have another one just like it now, and have yet to even mount a scope on it. Like you, when I go to Africa, I've yet to need the ranging capabilities of a 7mm. The 375 has always been plenty flat for anything I've hunted there. And you're ready for anything that steps out.
