4 shots - starting with empty rifle

scoring
- ~4" ring centre of head (not visible by firer) (5 points / 2 points)
-left balloon (5)
-right balloon (5)
-the red playing card (5)

timed

each shooter had a round chrono'd and projectile weight recorded with muzzle energy used in the scoring algorithm

one had to shoot straight, fast and with enough gun

a good time was had by all - but not as many balloons were harmed as some might have hoped :ROFLMAO:

:)

That would be fun. And a good test. Take multiple rifles and see which you perform better with under a little pressure.

Practicing alone is not like when others are watching and competing

How far were the shots.

We only had one go each, this was just one of a number of events.

Agreed, the pressure of competing, in front of others is useful.

It was 25 metres from memory.

Nice setup and test under pressure. Would you please share the scoring algorithm?

Noticed your location is Australia....just got back from my first trip to Australia for Water Buffalo and Banteng with Graham Williams with Australian Buffalo Hunters. The trip was fantastic and I met so many great and nice people in Darwin and throughout the entire trip. I was very impressed with Graham as well as Australia on the whole. Look forward to going back....will have to set up practice sessions similar to your "bit of fun" described above. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks JD - glad you had a great first trip here - hopefully we'll get you back. I don't know Graham personally, but have only heard very positive things about him personally and the experiences he provides.

I'm not certain on the specifics of the scoring algorithm. I'll make some enquiries.

Glad you enjoyed the shoot. It took almost half a day to put people through the one event, but it was by far the most fun in a long time.

Not sure of the exact algorithm but essentially score divided by time and the result multiplied by muzzle energy.

Looks like fun (y) I’ll get down there for a shoot one day. Was hoping to get to the Nationals. But alas it won’t happen this year.

Some video from the day

The balloons swaying in the wind is a bugger trust me we know.

Have a look at the video 38 seconds in we could not continue on the range untill balloon was popped.

My friend Jaco spraying bullets at the balloon with his 458 win mag this was August 2015 quite sometime back.

Jake, Sorry to bug you again. I was wondering if you could share a. couple actual pics of this crossbow with me?

Xpedition Archery USED Scrapeline390X Sniper Gray Crossbow XACW1001 - Light Wear - Needs Bolt/Arrow Guide Spring UA5689

If it is in a decent shape, would you be willing to sell it for $100 shipped? IS it missing the retention spring that goes over the bolt?
Thank you Ferenc

Good morning John, I just read your setup procedure for the northstar duplicator ator. I found it very hand and I did learn some things. I have the same machine and I am having a problem i can not figure out and was hoping you could shed some light on the subject.
