The thread about Dumoulin had my head in a twist... just which Belgian gunmakers, once so world renowned, are still active? Below I try to create a list of gunmakers that I have found, where one can still order a bespoke gun or rifle, and where contact details can still be found online. (@BRICKBURN , if this is not permitted, please delete this thread)

In no particular order (and I'm not mentioning FN Herstal) :

Paul Pletsers
Alexandre Hanssen
Parthoens
Delattre B.
De Greift

These are all that I could find... If anyone can add to this list, that would be very appreciated!

I think one of these days I'll need to put my money where my mouth is and support one of them...

FN Herstal only offers one sporting firearm, which is entirely manufactured in Belgium:

The Browning Model B-25 Superposed Over/Under.

It's really very sad about what happened. At one time (pre 1939), there were close to 200 gun makers in Leige. After world war II, they started dying out left and right. The Belgian congo becoming independent greatly accelerated the decline. Auguste Francotte, Lebeau Courally and Henri Dumoulin were among the last to close shop.

Oh no--Lebeau Courally?!

Hello,

Am I reading your post correctly to say that the Tsavo rifle will be coming out with a composite stock later this year? I ask because I had been looking very hard for a Tsavo, but if there is going to be a composite stock model I will wait for that.

Thank you for your time,

Andrew

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
