I used the Barnes 300 grain STX in my Remington Model 798 375 H&H last year with excellent results on Cape Buffalo and Warthog. For this year's hunt, I am using the same bullet again on another Buffalo hunt.
While confirming the zero with the new reloads, I was very happy to get several 1 MOA groups. The only change in the load from last year was a reduction of 1/2 grain of Varget, and the use of the Federal 215 Magnum Match primer. Both Norma and Hornady brass was used. The Norma brass is 17 grain heavier than the Hornady brass, but both accuracy and velocities were virtually the same. I expected the Norma brass to produce a higher velocity given its slighty less capacity, but the velocity was actually on average 15 fps less than the lighter Hornady brass. Velocities were right at 2,488 and 2,493 fps. SDs for both loads were 7 and 9.
One each target for the two loads differing only in the make of the brass. The distance was 100 yards. I think the rifle and the ammo is ready for departure in a few days.
