I didn´t have any definite plans to go back to Africa this year, but when last March I visited the stand of Spitskop Safaris at the Madrid hunting fair, my friend Adam Barnard said to me “would you like to come to Mozambique ? We are going to hunt crocodiles”.

So I answered, I am interested in Mozambique, but not in shooting any crocs, I just don´t have anywhere to put one, what else is there to hunt ? Well, there was hyena, baboon, bushpig, the chance of a very big Chobe bushbuck, warthogs, and the opportunity to see very large crocs being hunted in the Cahora Bassa dam. Interesting !

Unfortunately, there was little interest among his clients to hunt croc, and we couldn´t make a group large enough to fill the licenses being offered.

So we made a plan. At the end of September, I will go with my friend @chemarq to the Pongola Game Reserve, KwaZulu/Natal where we each plan to hunt a hyena, plus baboon and warthog.

Then on to Kimberley in the Northern Cape where Spitskop has its farm, there we will join two other friends who are hunting buffalo, which will be interesting. There I plan to take a mountain reedbuck, jackal, porcupine and warthog.

We will also make a visit to Adam´s cousin who owns a farm in the Free State and has assured us he has nice bushpig.

That will make ten days of hunting and having a good time in SA with a bunch of friends, I am really looking forward to it.

That's awesome adam runs a great camp. I am sure you will have another great hunt with him and @chemarq. Looking forward to seeing the pictures

Good luck with your hunt.
Say Hi to Kemp for me when you hit the PGR.
The Hyena should be interesting and have fun in Warthog Alley.

Congrats, best of luck! I hope you have great trip!

have a good one , sounds like a lot to pack into 10 days :D Beers:
Agree with Spike. It sounds like with all the hunting and all of the moving from place to place you will be very busy for 10 days. You may have to stay a couple of days longer...Oh poor you!!!

Nice and good luck, look forward to the report!

Awesome! Best of luck

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
