My wife and I went on our first hunt in Limpopo last year the first of sept. We want to go to the Eastrn Cape next, and are debating between first of August and first of September. Seems Aug. would probably be a bit cooler. We figure there would be a little less foliage and better visibility a month later in Sept.
Can anyone share any experiences that they have had during those time frames? Any opinions on either time frame? Thanks!

We went in September, the weather was just fine and the speck-boom was just starting to bloom and the kudu and nyala were flocking to it to eat it.
We did see some snow flying into PE and in some of the higher elevations. Wasn’t an issue and we did have light rain on a coupe of days , middle of September 2018. But I’ve had rain in June, July and September never heavy just a little inconvenient.

I hunted the eastern cape in September ‘22, the weather was lovely! No rain, less vegetation than earlier in the year.

I doubt there is any real advantage to one over the other. Go with a good outfitter and you’ll see a lot of game. Take some warm clothes. Can see snow in the higher mountains at that time of year. Depending on how high you’re hunting.

Both of my hunts were in mid May and then June, both in the Eastern Cape.

The one in mid May had a lot of rutting animals, where the one in June it was pretty much over.

I bought a great deal of the brass he had for sale, plus I already had many hundred rounds.

How much brass are you looking for?

Hi Green Chile, I just recently bought a 470 NE barrel for my Thompson Center TCR 83-87 single shot. Im just looking for some 470 NE to shoot at the range just to try it out. I dont need anything special but I just wanted to see what you have left. I dont necessarily even need a full box.
Thanks
Bill
