What’s everyone’s favorite audiobooks. Africa and non Africa related. Mines the terminal list series by Jack Carr.

not necessarily my favorite.. but one I read maybe 6-7 years ago, and my wife bought on Audible and listened to recently.. "The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck" :)

Manson's other book, "Everything is F*cked" isnt bad either..

Harsh (funny) titles.. but the messages are valid and worthy of note IMO.. to the point that Ive encouraged all of my kids to read or listen to them..

Safari Press previously sold a CD audiobook of W.D.M. Bell's 'Incidents from an Elephant Hunter's Diary', although it does not seem to be available now.

Non-hunting, I have, variously, either read or listened to all of Dickens' novels. Naxos audiobooks has an excellent and varied selection of works. They are read by English voice actors, which might help Americans and South Africans speak proper, like what we do. It used to sell CDs, but it is all streaming now.

I try to listen to 'Paradise Lost' once a year. I joked to a friend that it was much better than the original, but she did not find that very funny. Other audiobooks that I have enjoyed include 'A Night to Remember' and 'The Guns of August'.

Helpful hint: audiobooks are particularly good at keeping children quiet, even on the comparatively short run trips to school. Naxos - again - has some well-crafted titles for children.

Call me biased but the audiobook version of my wife's first novel is top of my list.

The Freedom Broker.

The plot centers on events that take place in "Kanzi" a fictional african country based on an amalgamation of Kenya and Uganda and the climax takes place in Zimbabwe.

It was a hoot learning just how an audiobook gets made, the reader spent hours on the phone with my wife discussing how to pronounce names, pacing etc. She was a top professional to work with, we were very lucky to get her.

The extra bonus is that we got to write off our trips to all of the locations in that novel as "research." One of the best perks of being a novelist.

Funny how spouses do that. I actually bought that book for my wife around the same time.

Pleased to see you enjoy those. I have met Jack a number of times and he is one of the nicest, most down to earth guys you ever want to meet.

Any of the Patrick Hull narrated Patrick O'Brian books. Start with Master and Commander.

Much prefer to read a book rather than listen to one. That said, I do have one that I keep on an old IPhone that I use for music. It isn’t really a book but rather a compilation of excerpts from numerous books being read by the author, Gene Hill. Entitled “Being There”, it is a favorite listen when the leaves start to drop and the cold settles in.

Hi PaulB. Would you be interested in another WJ Jeffery .450/.400 NE 3". It's an extractor model and in superb condition, cased as well. Made in 1908. The rifle is here in Texas.
