Ammo pouch, belts and culling belts

Looks like nice stuff, please send photos when it arrives. I love Murray Custom leather, but always looking for an excuse to buy more hunting stuff.

I didn’t ask for Buffalo head. And could have done without it
How many times are you going to be using a 500/416 for groundhogs? I think the buffalo is just fine for the intended purpose.

It's a beautiful belt. My only criticism (it's a minor one) is that I'd like a little more room to put a knife sheath on it vs having the cartridges spaced the way they are.

Yeah a knife would have to be carried at 3&9 or 5&7 the 6 would be covered by the buckle

wanted to bring this post back up. looking to buy a cartridge belt for 470 DR for buff. both this and the murray belts look amazing! hoping for some more feedback after owning for a year?

Just bought a belt with leopard buckle from them. Thanks!!!

They do look very nice. And I haven't done a lot of comparison shopping, but the prices seem very reasonable. I imagine shipping probably negates that. But I also will be very interested to hear your thoughts.
I like the uniqueness of the leopard buckle belt with yellow stitching. I customized the words. Cost of belt $55 US. Shipping $68. Uniqueness counts big with me!!!

I have one of the culling belts. It is fantastic quality and Jacques is an absolute gentleman, a please to deal with him.

My only concern is that I was lying on a rock trying to take a shot and my wife about 400m away said that the sun glinting off the cartridge brass was like a beacon.

If I was to order again, I would probably get one of the Same Browne style with a flap over the cartridges. Might not be ideal for quick access though.

So folks the Murray belt vs the Jaques....which culling belt is the best and why ?

Features per dollar go to Jaques. The only issue I have with the Jaques items is the leather used on the outside of double thick belts. I like the quality and features Jaques products have over Murray. But!

I would ask Jaques to use different leather on the outside of his belts. I would prefer the leather he used on the inside to be used on the outside as well. Or an English bridle leather.

Amazing quality, I couldn't be happier!

I'm a more modern style guy shooting a Blaser R8 with top quality glass, not exactly traditional. That said I've chosen the Murray Cartridge Belt because (IMO) it's the best solution for what I wanted. Hold all my cartridges for the day plus a knife. Bonus points for doing it in style with leather loops.

If I had wanted something a little more modern (and possibly practical), I would have gotten the same belt with elastic loops. Nothing wrong with that either. Still a beautiful belt. If you are buying a Dick Murray product, you will not go wrong.
Use the same. Learned the hard way to load it up well before the hunt because the loops need some time to loosen up! Best would be to use it at the range as you prep

That’s what I was doing. I recently sold this belt because I’m a fat bastard.

Switched to a belt slide from Galco called the Safari Five. Had my local leathersmith cut off the top flap and clasp to make it an open top design.

im using a waist pouch thing which includes a water bottle carrier on the same belt. It is made for joggers so its pretty small. Holds a slingshot, extra bands and various stuff to shoot like 3/8 steel, and marbles etc. and might be able to get a couple of snack bars in it.

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.:)

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.
