So @ArmyGrunt came to me a while back about an alligator. He wanted to go with a loosely based Peter Pan idea of the croc with the clock in it's mouth. We decided on a nautical themed clock. After bouncing ideas around this is the final product. I hope ya'll enjoy.

You are getting very creative Erik ;)

When I read the words in your post, my immediate thought was negative (i.e. "thats going to be campy".. or "not sure how that is going to work out...")...

Then I scrolled down and looked at the actual work...

Great job!

Creative, classy execution, and looks excellent...

I could see me stealing this idea and having one made very similarly if/when I ever take a gator..

Well done!

Thank you, that is a huge compliment. I was very pleased with how it turned out and I think ArmyGrunt is too.

Very cool idea and great execution!

Captain Hook would be proud!

That’s cool.

Excellent concept

I wanted to do a full mount as the clock tower....but the estimate was something Dr Nate might do in the future. Medic/student Nate didn't have a chance!

We'd talked about one style of pedestal for this, but Erik thought that didn't flow. A short phone conversation and him digging thru the pile o' stuff, and he found this perfectly fitting piece of wood.

I can't wait to hear how loud my girlfriend's eyes roll when this gets home!

Take a picture of her face when she sees it. That will be a trophy in itself

That full body mount should be interesting in Dr Nate’s front hall one day.

I hope I get to do the full deal for Dr. Nate :)

In the hall, by the front door, I dream of a hyena with a snarl...just to welcome my guests. HOWEVER! She said in OUR home there won't be dead animals in the living room, so I doubt that will fly....
I told her we need a house with a great room-so it's not calls living room and I can have lots of wall space!

My wife said a bunch of stuff like that 18 years ago when we got married. I thought it was cute that she thought I’d take it seriously.

So excited when I got home from a 48 hour shift!
Too bad I had stuff to do this morning, and haven't got to open it yet....

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
