AH Get Togethers

I might be living just a stones throw from another member. He/She could be a potential shooting partner, shooting both BS and Centerfire rifle on my back porch range ( suppressor necessary).
Even if I had to drive a bit to meet up for lunch that would be great ( no night driving any more) .
Nothing like pressing the flesh and sharing experiences one on one .

The world has changed a lot over the years in attitudes toward firearm's and hunting and with all the security issues today , I could see why members would prefer privacy and not have locations known . A real shame the world has come to this .
I don’t discuss hunting anything with someone unless they are of the same mind set. I don’t want just anybody to have access to information on any club of which I am a member
I could see how such a map may be of concern to many members

I suppose I could post “ Hello I’m in zip code 04609 any member near me ? I’m old and lonely and need a shooting and story telling buddy.”

I lived in Alpharetta for a few years in 90's. Really liked that area. I have ended up in AZ for the last 15 years. Love it out here except for the really hot days of summer. You know the 110+ days.....

I would love to do that but from the Mooselodge yo be a “fur piece “ as they say here in Maine .My rule these days is , if I can’t drive it in under 2 hrs , don’t do it .
Got to figure in the return trip and no night driving. The family doesn’t let me stray far .
One problem Maine has that it is by many measures a very poor state. If you carve out the Rockafellers, Mellons, Mercks, Johnsons etc who are my neighbors , there are really no Firearms Dealers dealing iin vintage and antique arms where one may strike up a relationship with fellow shooters or collectors. Plenty of small Black Gun shops but nothing for me.
Come the fall I will do the mandatory migration back to the Philly region for the winter so I can start the weekly visitations to my medical specialists. I used to winter over in Maine in the past but specialized medical care where I am is very difficult and a 6 hr drive to Boston to see a doc is out if the question
Health care in most of Maine is a real hit and miss situation. Forget it fo specialist care

Amen! I definitely know what you mean. But, i am still thankful to wake up every morning.

While I fully understand that I guess that is why my family always called me Rare Breed...I just don't care what anti hunters think, and I have no problem letting people know my city and state. Of course, I do not violate our forums rules by listing full personal information except in a PM it would not bother me at all. Just me of course.
