AH Get Togethers

I just provide visual aids. I don't go into specifics.:D

Sure wish Houston was closer to Gainesville. Perhaps in the future. You guys will have a great time!

We have aeroplanes now. They go real fast!

@tarbe and @Buff-Buster and I are trying to brainstorm right now. With the three of us on it, what could go wrong?

Cody,

A friend of mine owns a pub in downtown Houston. However, it's not real close to the George R. Brown Convention Center. I've organized small get togethers after the Houston Marathon the last couple of years. I can probably get a few tables reserved. Not really any discounts, but the prices are fairly reasonable.

The Brass Tap is located at 922 Holman. There is a public parking garage adjacent to the pub, so parking is easy.

What we really need is for Gordy and Sons (https://gordyandsons.com/) to organize another book signing event and feed like they did last year with Dr. Kevin Robertson. I thought Gordy might do the same type of deal with John Sharp.

Yes, John spoke with Russell last year when we were there last year with Kevin. John hasn’t mentioned anything about an event there but we can check. I like the Brass Tap idea also!

From the Brass Tap website - I am a little worried about that last word...

"The Brass Tap Houston offers over 150+ craft beers from around the globe in a neighborhood atmosphere that feels both relaxed and upscale"

Forgot to add: :A Banana Sad:

I hope to make the Houston show again this year.... more to connect with friends than the show;) So count me in if there is a get together!

I could possibly hold a get together sometime at my place in East Central Minnesota. East side of Mille Lacs lake, couple hours North of the Twin Cities.

Thinking a shoot similar to what the Alaska guys do? I am slowly progressing on a 500 yard range. As well as pistol and archery.

We could also organize something at the Hinckley Casino during the Lake Superior SCI Convention.

And there is a new Charter in Fargo ND that I'm sure something could be arranged as well.

And Des Moines Iowa.

If enough interest.

I'm hoping to see Carol give the Peta turds a hard time again! Worth the price of admission!

Double rifles at 500 yards! It will be epic!

Just make sure the targets are rather large. :)

I have just opened up this new forum section which I hope will bring even more people together from AH. I got inspiration for this new section because I thought it was so great that an AH member (@PHOENIX PHIL) planned a very successful dinner party on his own volition for fellow AH members to meet up at DSC.

That really made me think that it would be great if people could plan any kind of informal get togethers nearby where they live, any time of the year, even if it was only a couple of people who turned up. It inspires me to think that AH could go beyond just being a website that you visit and become a place for social connections in your everyday life.

I think it would be good to include the locality of your get together in the title of your post.

Looking forward to hearing about some of your get togethers...
Great idea! Anyone want to have a braai in the bushveld? :)

A Braai in the bushveld is always good!

I could meet ya up there sometime this summer. I live 45 min south on 47 from the east side and my buddy has a camper by MSA bar that I can sleep at.

Love this concept.

Perhaps a progressive get together; to start, a simple meet and greet at a convenient local restaurant or pub, and progress, for those near or have a home range can setup a shoot that would allow other members to shoot "The Big Guns", to see if they can handle / manage recoil before they regret buying a heavy recoiling firearm. Then of course what is range time amongst friends, progress to perhaps a big bore shooting competition.

Maybe a tri state get together: Northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, Southeast Kentucky members.

I have not been to an AH get together for several years now, but look forward to the next one. I put in for a booth at both DSC and SCI to display the archery targets I import from South Africa. I am on a wait list for SCI, but I got in at DSC!! This will be my first time ever going to the DSC. I am not a sponsor here so I won't try and promote my booth or anything but I expect to be available for a dinner on any given night of the show.

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!
