Winchester Model 70 416 Rem mag with Leupold 2-12 fire dot that Mark had upgraded with a Timken trigger, glass bedded and added a mercury recoil reducer. Shoots great!

Last time we had children knock on our door for trick or treat the got scared silly. They asked me to take my mask off. When I told them I didn't have one on. They told me to go and put one one as it was to scary a sight.

Mate it was a pleasure to meet you and have fun missing clays.
When ever you want that BLR fixed I will give you the number for JES. Im sure they can remedy the minor problem you have.
If'n you get the chance try some 100gn round nose in that 243. They will open your eyes and kill rate will go up. Just saying they actually work well in the 243.

It’s nice to know that you are in the company of gentlemen. I hope it has a positive impact on you but I reckon I once heard a saying that you can take Bob out of Australia but you can’t take the Aussie out of Bob. Well something like that.

Maybe the Blaser shorty was out of you league and you’d have done better with an old SxS like we use in Oz.

I hope their beer is alright and they treat you well.

Bob, I haven’t hunted with that BLR .243 in 10 years and when I did - used 100gr Remington Corelok - good results on 5 whitetail, a bit of a mess on a NY Black Bear (4 hits - nothing touched a vital…so that was on ME). Past few years used Rem 760 pump in .30-06 Rem PSP Corelok 165 gr..and lately .45-70 w/325 gr Hornedy LeverEvolution. But if I ever decide to rebarrel the BLR into a more “manly” caliber - will ship it to Australia and You can “surprise me” with something Substantial.

A photo after our brunch at Cracker Barrel in Kodak, TN then we headed over to the Bass Pro Shops across the road for Bob and Judy to look around.

Of course Bob instantly found the Shooting Range sign. Since the change machine was out of order Bob couldn’t test his skills. No quarters and No front sights on the laser rifles.

Is @Bob Nelson 35Whelen softening to the .243 for use other than a tomato stake?
Or have I missed previous threads from Bob providing helpful information on using the .243 as an actual hunting rifle?
