Lots of threads here on "show us your".........hunting knife/double rifle/shotgun/hammer gun. How about showing your 9.3x62. I don't have one to post but would like to see what models, custom or not, forum member have and enjoy. I'm thinking of going that route and need some "eye candy"!!

A pic of when I was cutting my Pelican to fit.

Husky 640 (FN) action, 25" Douglas barrel in Mauser Model A profile (which I like a great deal), B&C Mauser stock, Recknagel 3-pos safety, custom bases to correct poorly drilled scope holes, Leupold 1.75 x 6. Removeable Talley peep as well.

I shoot NorthFork 286 in Lapua brass with Ramshot Big Game and get 2505 fps.

It does need a trigger though...

LH Zastava 98 Mauser. 22 inch barrel. Luepold VX6 1-6X28 scope in S&K rings and bases. Model 70 style 3 position safety. Restocked by good friend Pete Underwood. Shoots NF 286grn softs and solids at 2400fps into tiny 1 hole ragged groups.

if you use an electric knife you can get a tighter fit for less movement, that is what I do for each rifle and have foam for each one

It is the 3rd generation, made by Merkel at Suhl, while the 2 previous generations were made at Obendorf-am-Neckar by H&K itself.

It is a very reliable gas operated rifle and it has never jammed with all ammunitions used, from Norma Vulkan 232 gr up to Norma Oryx 286 gr. Not the most beautiful gun but very effective in driven hunt.

With its "grand-mother", the famous H&K 940.

I heard this rifle was also made in 9.3x62 just before to be discontinued, but I have never encountered one so far, I just saw one or two magazines with the caliber written on them.
This one is in 7x64, and it doesn't work with the classic gas operated system but with a delayed roller locked bolt system. The most reliable hunting rifle ever made for me.

The 9.3x62 was a very picky caliber for semi-automatic rifles, and all gun makers had problems with it at the beginning.
H&K was the first one to provide us rifles working flawlessly with this caliber. Now, we also find Browning, Winchester and Benelli rifles in 9.3x62.
The 4th and last generation of H&K was made by Haenel but it is discontinued now. Same thing with the Merkel SR2.
Voere also manufactures its 2185 in 9.3x62, but I have never seen one.

That H&K 940 brings back some memories. I had a 940 and a 770 (I think that is correct?. It was the 308 version). Unfortunately in 1996 we had a forced gun buyback and I watched both of them get completely crushed. They were both fantastic rifles. Is that 940 yours? Do you still have the original owners manual by any chance?

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!

Hi Rem280, Saw your post on getting selected for Idaho Elk. Do you have a zone(s) selected? I live in N Idaho, might be able to offer some ideas.

Cheers,

Craig
