These .458 North Fork 350 grain Cup Point expanding solids arrived today. I think, they will work for Alaska in 45-70, 458 Winchester, and 458 Lott. Unfortunately it will be awhile before I can load them and test fire. Application is for 100 meters and under, likely 1/2 that distance or closer.
I could not get the pictures to show the actual size of the cup / hollow cavity to show accurately. It is actually larger than what I had envisioned.

Should be very effective.
I took a water buff with one shot with a .411 cup point out of my 1895 .405 WCF. It pulverized upper leg bones, took out heart and shot through ribs entering and exiting and was recovered under the off side skin.
It was dead before it hit the ground and when it did , the head bounced. Rather dramatic.

It was a big old thing and the steaks were beautiful, but tough, so we ground a lot of it. We had a hunters party and after two days marinating, the backstrap and brisket were smoked to perfection.

I am presently shooting some .458 350 grain NF SS in my 45-70 DR and they are regulating well.

I have a couple of different 45-70’s that I will load for. My son has the 18” barrel one, and I have a 20” one. And of course the 458 Winchester and Lott.
Your 405 WCF achieved some sizable penetration of that Buffalo ! What grain CPS was that ?

I am anxious to load and try these .458 350 grain.
Unrelated but, I wound up with a box of .410 400 grain Swift A-Frame. They were in a stack of .458 400 grain with the labeling turned opposite direction.
Anyways, I did not notice until I opened the box, pulled one from it and immediately noticed it did not feel right diameter. But, I have to say that is an impressive looking bullet.
