450 Rigby vs 458 Lott

The push feed doesn't worry me but the 6 o'clock ejector does. Some have had issues.

Mine did if I had a scope on it. It’s no myth. I still regret selling my Sako Kodiak in 375H&H though. It was a beautiful rifle and the gun fit me like no other. As fast as a red dot with open sights. Every time I shouldered it I couldn’t help but have the sights perfectly lined up. (“In a fight front sight” ~ Mark Sullivan) that big front sight would just sit there perfectly in the shallow V every time, I can just kiss the target with the tip of the front sight and be sure of a good shot.
Without a scope it would have been the ultimate bolt gun for a charging lion or brown bear but with a scope it had a 5% chance of having an empty shell drop back into the chamber after being ejected, not a big deal on a deer, it was quick to reach in and flick out but not acceptable on a DG rifle.

I hope the Sako 90 is a different animal. It does look like they eject out at a slightly different angle

Killed Dangerous Game in Africa with both rounds. Dont have a Kimber but my 450 is a Sako 85. Fantastic rifle and round, trust my life to it. My 450 Watts ( 458 Lott) kills Cape Buffalo very well. You cant go wrong with either choice.

Call the Watts by its proper name, it’s what it should be. And the sako ejection problem can be fixed, a new extractor with slightly different geometry and rim grip position, plus spring, and the cases will flick clear, a decent smith can fix it, at a cost unfortunately.

My Sako Kodiak in .375 H&H is my favorite gun, but mine does not have any ejection issues. It functions perfectly every time I use it, and I have killed dozens of animals with it. My Sako Grizzly in 9.3x66 did have ejection issues, but I was able to fix it by buying a new extractor. Link below
