I've finally got my 450 Rigby brass, bullets and dies together, all I need is some data.
I'm loading both Barnes X 500gr and Swift A-Frame 500gr bullets. These are intended for Buff and Hippo. If I ever hunt Ele there are Norma factory loads with the 500gr flat nosed solids that several members have advised are quite deadly on that species.
I have Norma and Hornandy brass, Federal Gold Medal large magnum primers and near every powder available.
I haven't been able to track down any load data for the 450 Rigby in the reloading manuals that I have, but have heard that 450 Dakota and reduced 460 Wby data can be used. So far it seems 4350 and 4831 are the go to powders.
2350-2400 is as far as I feel the need to go with these bullets in this cartridge, as accuracy and reliability are probably more important.
Any good starting points would be appreciated.
