I loaded 92 grains of CFE223 behind the 350 grain TSX, all ahead of Federal 215 primer

Confused- what do the three different pics of chronograph readout units, with some kind of a cartridge sitting on them, show? Is that a shot string of three shots, #s 1,2,3? If for mean velocity... 3 shots is not a large enough sample size to yield a statistically significant result. If for standard deviation of velocity... 3 shots is not a large enough sample size to yield a statistically significant result. I guess one could make some kind of estimate about the load... at 20 deg F ambient air temp, that load out of that rifle, might yield a velocity somewhere between 2550 and 2600 fps.

Here is the results of 94 grains CFE223 & 350 grain TSX

The question is, is it necessary? 2 grains more is just going to be harder on your brass and your shoulder. There are precious few creatures that walk the earth that will take a hit from a .416 350 TSX at 2,550 fps and walk it off. I would be willing to bet that aside from elephant, that bullet, at that speed will take anything in the world with aplomb. That Jameson brass ain't cheap and it is hard to come by. Just food for thought

Agreed

Why is necessary even a concern. I'm enjoying working up these loads. If I had 2000MR Speer data says I could push a 350 grain bullet to 2800FPS+
Oh its not I guess. I am just really practical when it comes to my rifle. And yes, 2000MR was the go-to powder for my .416 ruger that pushed a 340 grain woodleigh to 2,600fps. It actually kicked less than my 400 grain loads too which was a pleasant surprise.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
