John Taylor wrote ,that the .375 HH ist one with the best penetration ever.
I belive it gladly.
I shot with a Hornady 300gr FMJ Bullet, from a meter distance on a beech with almost 70cm (27,5 inch).
and it was going through like butter. On the pics you see the shootout.

Everyone who has ever hacked a fresh wet beech, knows, that no bone may be so hard bitten like that.

It would be interesting to lend you a host of calibers to see side by side what the result would be.

Wow that is truly impressive.

Hope you don't like that tree! Being lung shot, and all. :)

I think this should end the argument about the 375 H&H being adequate.

pretty sure no one doubts the penetration abilities of the 375 H&H! I don't have a picture, but I blew a 18" diameter solid granite boulder in half with a single shot using a 300gr CEB solid loaded to around 2500 fps. the power this cartridge possesses is truly impressive considering its the smallest of the "elephant" cartridges.

weight: 300gr (available in 225-350)
velocity: 2500 fps +/- 100 fps (if using a 300gr bullet)
muzzle energy: 3800-4500 (depending on velocity using the 300gr bullet)

whats not to love? the 375 H&H is easily one of the greatest hunting cartridges ever made and can be used to hunt any thing from varmints to elephants.

?? Ok , but you are not fearful, the bullet would have "to rebound" at that distance ... or" explode" ..
Next, try .416 (Rigby, RM, Ruger ..) ..:D
