1989 Land Rover Defender At Auction Orlando FL

I have no ownership or interest in this auction, I simply saw it on a pop up ad this morning and passing it on to anyone who might be interested. Looks like the steering wheel is on the left and appears to be in decent shape. The color reminds me of the color a lot of US Forest Service vehicles were painted.

Totally agree NS, proper Landy's have the steering on the right side. I have 3 various models (90-110) here in the colonies, and still have a 90 in the UK. They all start every time, and will go anywhere I want them to go, and even some places they shouldn't.

So true. Spent a couple of years looking for the right Defender - eventually decided the old girl in my avatar made a lot more sense.

Yup.

I've never had to pull a Land Rover, especially a Defender with a land Cruiser. One of mine was sitting in storage for the last few years, put a fresh battery in it, and it fired on the 1st turn of the key. The one we drive on the farm goes through 2 feet of snow, mud, stumps everything.

I used to have an Austin Gypsy, which was Austin's version of the Land Rover. If it wasn't high centered it could go - didn't matter the depth of the snow.

Owned a 75 model Santana 109, Spanish clone.

Spent a lot of time in a 110 and 130 in Africa, Australia and Europe.

Ergonomically I'd rather have a F350 crew cab. But they look cool, even though they are small.

My Toyota Sequoia goes anywhere I point it on 32 inch BFG's and gets 20 miles to the gallon.

I had one that same color an early IIA 109, neat rig but mine was a shop car. I suspect it had been abused before I got it. Still love that model though.
