I wanted proper head-stamped brass for my 338-06 I know that brass marketed as Weatherby is made by Norma which is good quality, so I ordered it. Take a look.

Thankfully the headstamp is correct but I just want to call up there to ask who proofed this print.
Stranger things have made it through I suppose but it makes me chuckle a bit.

A-Square is the entity that ran it through SAAMI.

.338-06 A-Square is correct, but many trash it/steal it because Art is not around to defend it.

Funny stuff. Art dude grabbed the template, dropped in the cartridge and part number like he does for every other weatherby cartridge and sent to print…

but, is a 338/06 weatherby mag faster than a 338/06 AI?

Enquiring minds want to know…

I have a strong yearning for a .338-06 A-Square. I just really am at the point that I have more rifles than I need and am spending my money on hunting with the ones I have.

I've gathered up 20+ boxes of the stuff over the years. All the head stamps read either Weatherby 338-06 A-Sq or Norma 338-06 A-Sq. I think Norma makes it no matter the headstamp- Weatherby or Norma. Quality cartridge offers it on order. I think it is head stamped Qual Cart 338-06

I always got a chuckle out of the Weatherby Magnum on the box :)

Just because it has the weatherby name on the box the brass feels better about itself, so you get the magic extra 200fps vs a plain old normal 338/06
