    Question for Brno 602 Owners

Thank you for your reply. What i did was take up the slack in all three screws, then snug up the two action screws before the forend screw. Then i tightened the action screws just till they felt solid. Didn't take much as the rifle is fully bedded. Will try it at the range tomorrow.

    Question for Brno 602 Owners

I recently acquired a 602 chambered (rechambered?0 in 416 Rigby. The rifle arrived with the stock and barreled action separated, for shipping ease i assume. I quickly discovered the forend screw and nut were missing. I addressed this in another thread, but have sourced the needed parts. My...

416 Rigby on a Brno Zkk 602 action

I recently aquired a 602, chambered in 416 Rigby. Don't believe it is a factory chambered rifle, but the stamping is pretty good. Wondering if it is a barrel off a CZ550?

    Newest Purchase

Heard back from the seller last night and i am SOL. He "forgot" to mention the missing parts when we discussed purchasing. Sent out several inquiries to various suppliers about parts availability and will visit Epp's this morning. If all else fails, I can order the parts from CZ-USA and have...

Sending it back would cost me around $100 shipping. The needed parts are only about $10. I don't consider it a big deal, just more of a PITA. And ya, i am a little ticked the seller forgot to mention it. I checked into it and the parts are available thru CZ-USA, unfortunately they do not ship to...

    Newest Purchase

Just received my latest on-line purchase. Brno 602 chambered in 416 Rigby. Overall , i'm very pleased with it's condition. To cold to go to the range today, but it feeds and extracts well. Even came with an old Zeiss FX scope. The glass itself is clear as a bell, but until i shoot it, who knows...

    Barnes and Rigby Info?

Thanks. I will get in touch with Barnes directly. Never actually crossed my mind to do so. Sometimes the simplest answer is the hardest to come up with. LOL.

    Barnes and Rigby Info?

Thank you, i saw that. My question is: is the ?X? bullet the same as the "TSX" bullet for reloading purposes?

    Barnes and Rigby Info?

Perhaps a little more detail. The one in am asking about "X" #41690 appears the same as the "TSX" flat base bullet, but only has one cannelure grove, instead of four. Are they the same for reloading purposes? Thanks

    Barnes and Rigby Info?

Can anyone point me toward info on Barnes 416 bullets. I have 2 boxes of 400gr "X" cannelured bulets that i want to try in my 416 chambered Brno, but can't seem to find any data for these particular bullets. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks

    Pulling Reloads

Thanks for all the interest, guy's. Went ahead and gave the inertia puller a try and as luck would have it, worked fine. Dumped the powder, since i had no idea what it was, de-activated the primers, then treated the cases as once fired. Now have a good selection of practice ammo. Thanks again

    Bit of an oddball?

I suspect German. I came across one reference to Moers, but it was in German and my German is about like my Apache. Nonexistent.

    Bit of an oddball?

Came across an unknown make this AM. It is a Brachmann Moers M98 in 7x64B. Looks in good shape and the price is low enough to spark my interest. Did an online search for info, but no joy. Can anyone educate me on the good/bad of these rifles? Thanks

CZ 550 chambered in .505 Gibbs

Sounds about in the ball park. Right now there is a used Sako 500 Jeffery for $2900, a new CZ 404 Jeffery for $8500 and a used Sako 416 rigby for $3900. All in Canada and all in Canadian $. None a 505 Gibbs, but gives the overall impression of prices being all over the place. If u decide to pass...

    Pulling Reloads

I bought 80pcs of 458WM reloads that were advertised as 480gr. When i received them, they didn't look quite right. I managed to pull one of the bullets and it turns out they are 405gr. The seller argued the point, but after some pointed emails, allowed that he may have been mistaken. I am leery...

    Remington Arms relocates

Really hoping it works out for Remington No denying they've had their self inflicted problems in the past, but that said, I bought my first 700 in the early 70s and my latest one 2 weeks ago. Owned well over a dozen, all 700s, and every one has functioned flawlessly. Unfortunately i know not...

    Lesson learned

Never tried the Sweets. Used Hoppes for years, then switched to Boretech. Seems to be removing significant copper deposits. What i find amazing is the difference when cleaning from the muzzle end. Clean from the chamber end and very little copper. Switch to the muzzle end and the patch's come...

    Lesson learned

A few months back i purchased a used Rem 750 chambered in 35 Whelen. Got 11 full boxes of various ammo with it. Did a quick cleaning on it and finally got it to the range last week. Functioned fine, but grouped like a shotgun with all the ammo i tried. Brought the gun home and the barrel, on...

    Model 70 in 375 scope

Model 70 Alaskan vs. X-Bolt Medallion Maple? .300 Win Mag

Had the Browning, and now have the Alaskan in both 300WM and 375HH. The Browning is a class act, no way around it, but the combination of CRF and factory open sights on the Alaskan was the deciding factor for me. No difference in accuracy with either brand. Probably will come down to your own...

Ordered one of these today... Model 70 Alaskan

I've got you surrounded. Bought two earlier this year. A 375HH and300WM. Love them both. Decent wood and iron sights, plus a nice deep blue. Both shoot very well with a variety of loads and the 375 seems a little softer on the shoulder than other 375s i've had, You will ne happy.

Wanted M70 Alaskan In 30-06 Or 300WM Canada Only

Looking for a M70 Alaskan in 30-06 or 300WM. Because of import laws i am restricted to Canada only. Looked at a couple new one's and the price has increased $4-500 in the last few months, so i thot that there may be a Canadian member with a line on a used one in good condition. Any input is...

Thanks for all the suggestions, but due to the scarcity of ZKK parts in general, i went another route. Just purchased an unfired M70 Alaskan in 375hh for what i was looking at for the Brno. Picking it up later today and will post a couple pic's in the appropriate section. Thanks again.

    Ruger #1

Thanks guy's. The one i am looking at is indeed a 458WM that appears in very good shape I have had no recoil issues with the WM or Lott, however they have always been housed in CZ550s and that has me wondering about a #1. Waiting to hear back from the seller to arrange a viewing.

    Ruger #1

Need the opinion of members who own/shoot the #1 chambered in 458WM. Not a stranger to 458s, just #1s and wonder if there are any problems to the #1s. Not overly concerned about recoil, just any other possible issues. Thanks

    Ruger #1 International opinions

Yes, if the term "pretty" can be applied to any firearm, the International is a definite contender. Feels almost like a toy after being used to bolt guns.

Gun cleaning behind all copper ammo

Always assumed my rifle barrels were clean by using Hoppes products, but got to wondering after reading this thread. Took some serious searching, but was able to get the Bore Tech products. The Cu+2 and the C4. Wow and double wow. The fowling and copper that showed up was a rude awakening...

    Ruger #1 International opinions

Thanks to all who participated, but was all for naught. Had a good dialogue going with the seller, right up till i said i'd take it. Haven't heard a thing from him since. The up-side is that nice rifles are made every day. Another one will come along.

    Ruger #1 International opinions

Waiting to hear back from the seller, and if we can reach agreement, i'm going to have it. Realizing it may not be a tack driver is okay, if i want pinholes i have a few guns that are more than capable. There is just something about an International that appeals to me.

    Ruger #1 International opinions

Got a chance to get a #1 International in 7x57. Looks immaculate and wears a Swaro scope. Anyone familar with this particular model, and is accuracy generally decent? Never owned a single shot or a Ruger either, so best to ask. Thanks

    Chewed up bolt

Thanks for all the replies. Got me thinking that maybe a smith should have have a look at the gun. Pulled the bolt apart and found a ton of hardened goop built up on the underside of the extractor. That plus the weird scratch's running in every direction make me think a pro should have a look.

    Chewed up bolt

The pics don't really show the marks all that well. The bolt body appears "scuffed", like it was forced thru a tight receiver. Not scratched, but (rubbed) scuffed. The extractor on the other hand is heavily scratched, almost like it was forcefully pried, several times with something pointed...
