USA: BOWHUNT: Wyoming Archery Elk Hunt 2018

Nothing like an archery elk hunt in September! Congrats, well told story!

I love that country..................your story captured it well. You are one well prepared hunter, and it showed.............congrats....................FWB

Preparation and desire make up a lot of "luck". I like your writing. Beautiful country and a nice bull for your efforts. Congrats and thanks for sharing.

Great story! Love to do something similar myself one day.

Congratulations on a great adventure and a successful hunt!
You have accomplished a feat that I can only dream about, but your writing made me feel that I was with you the entire trip!!
Thank you so much!!!

Congrats on a public land elk with a bow !!!

Fantastic report and congrats on the successful conclusion! I really enjoyed the description - really interesting and different hunt (compared to my experience here in Africa)
Thank you for taking the time to write it up and share!

A truly fantastic hunt, one I'm sure you will remember for the rest of your life. I have one question though, have you already started planning your return trip?

Thanks for the kind words gentlemen! Reliving the hunt through a write up takes time, but is a lot of fun to put together.

@Shootist43 Derek was planning a return trip within five minutes of leaving Jackson Hole! However, he's trying to talk his ol' man into coming along next time, which is taking some convincing. I'm ready to lock it back in when they are.

@BRICKBURN I thought I was pretty lucky too, to walk away essentially unscathed. However, within a couple weeks of returning home I developed persistent indigestion that I couldn't shake. I initially chalked it up to work/life stress, but after a couple rounds of over the counter meds and a trip to my MD, with no relief, I was starting to get concerned. On a whim, I went to a chiro/sports medicine doc in January who started to prob around my ribs and found things hadn't necessarily gone back into place where the binos impaled me! A couple therapy/adjustment sessions later I was finally back to feeling normal. Only took four months! :)
